Facts 

  1. Wearing a seat belt reduces the risk of a fatal accident by 50%
  2. Talking on the phone while driving quadruples the risk of an accident and texting makes a crash 23 times more likely
  3. An appropriate driving position prevents four out of five collisions

 

Total strictly prohibits the following while driving:

  • Using a cell phone, even a hands-free one, or any other personal electronic device.  
  • Fiddling with or setting a GPS.

 

Simple Practices To Improve Safety

  • Adjusting the driving position:  

-Improves response time and effectiveness:

  • The driver’s seat should not be inclined back.
  • The driver’s seat must be adjusted so that the driver’s knee is always bent when he or she has a foot on the brake pedal.

-Reduces the consequences of an accident.

  • Get your employer's permission if you want to bring passengers

with you on business trips.
