Thursday, November 22, 2018 - In a bid to better manage waste in the country, Total Petroleum Ghana Limited (Total) and Voltic Ghana Limited (Voltic) have launched a plastic collection project to help in the proper management of plastic waste from households and in the streets of Accra and Tema Metropolis.
The initiative dubbed ‘#IRecycle’ seeks to fulfill three major CSR initiatives known as the 3Ws – Women Empowerment, Water Stewardship, and Waste Management.

This project is also in line with Voltic’s waste segregation and disposal project which it has run since 2015.

Total is on board to make the containers accessible to the public through its wide network of service stations.
The company is also fueling the tricycles which will gather the plastics for recycling.
Coliba Ghana, a plastic recycling startup, will work with the waste pickers to empty and aggregate enough plastics for bulk sale. ‘#IRecycle’ will not only safeguard the environment, but the plastics will be converted into new resources for an added advantage.

The public is entreated to look out for these containers in any of the Total Service containers at Atomic Energy, ACP, East Legon, Liberation, Oxford Street, Tema Hospital road, Ashaiman Motorway 1, Tema Main Harbour, Tema Community 1,  Motorway 1, 37 Total Station, Liberation Road, La Paz, Liberia Road and Achimota Stations.
